Amberly is the President and sole owner of Direct Innovations. She founded DI in April of 2005 with $5,000 in savings and an undying will to succeed. Since then her and her team have transformed it into one of the fastest growing businesses in Houston, Texas. Today, sales top $3M annually and the company is home to eight employees.
Amberly is the youngest woman of more than 1600 members to be named to the Women’s’ Presidents Organization, an honor that requires over $2M in sales annually. Her company, Direct Innovations was recently named by the Houston Business Journal as #21 on the list of the Top Fifty Fastest Growing Female Businesses in Houston. In 2008, Amberly was one of eight finalists in the Houston-NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) Business Owner of the Year. She is a finalist in two categories of The International Stevie Awards for Women, Best Young Entrepreneur under 30 and Best Entrepreneur- Advertising & Marketing -under 100 employees. She named by her peers Houston Professional on the Fast Track, 2009 Enterprising Woman of the year finalist and among the Dynamic Women of Houston. Direct Innovations was honored as the WBEA Supplier of the Year (Category $1 Million - $5 Million) and Amberly won a 2009 Stevie Award for Best Entrepreneur.
Amberly is a native Texan. She comes from a long line of entrepreneurs. She has a BBA in Marketing from the University of Mississippi and lives in Houston with her husband. Amberly credits her success in sales, not with the latest bestseller but learning how to sell and negotiate with three “tough client” brothers, each with a distinct personality. Trying to make a profit on a Barbie in a GI Joecostume was a hard sale but great training. She is currently writing a book about relationship selling, "Everything I Learned about Sales, I Learned in the Upstairs Gameroom." Her current goals include growing her businesses and empowering women by serving as a mentor and coach to those who want not just a career in sales but a great career in sales.
